- Project Title (M.Tech): Sensors based Smart Street Lighting System using PLC and SCADA
Project description: Infrared sensors were used to detect the pedestrian or vehicle across the smart street light system. When a pedestrian or vehicle is detected near the pole, sensor will send signal to lamp unit through the PLC for the number of lights to turn on. Comparative cost analysis study revealed that smart street lighting (Rs21,90,000) system is better than HPSV system (Rs 91, 98,000). Smart Street lighting system not only achieve energy-saving, it also extends the service life of the street lighting equipment’s.
- Project Title(B.E): Energy audit and acoustic study in modern rice mill
Project description: Cost effective designs and efficient, low maintenance operation schemes are key requirements for survival in today’s industrial establishments. Various studies in different industries have shown that significant energy-efficiency improvement opportunities exist in the industrial sector, many of which are cost-effective. Conducting an energy audit is one of the first steps in identifying these potentials, but many plants do not have the capacity to conduct an effective energy audit. In some countries, government policies and programs aim to assist industry to improve competitiveness through increased energy efficiency. Information on energy auditing and practices should, therefore be prepared and disseminated to industrial plan. |
