Title of the work: DEVELOPMENT OF SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR FOR WATER PUMPING

Purpose of the Work

The primary goal of this project is to develop an efficient and high-performance synchronous motor-based water pumping system to replace conventional induction motor-driven pumps. The project aims to address the key limitations of induction motors, such as high starting current, low power factor, and excessive power losses, by leveraging the advantages of synchronous motors, including higher efficiency, reduced I²R losses, and improved power factor.

By designing the synchronous motor’s stator in a manner similar to an induction motor (delta-run configuration), the proposed system ensures a seamless transition while maintaining the reliability and operational simplicity of existing pump setups. This development is particularly crucial for applications requiring continuous and energy-efficient water supply.

The ultimate objective is to convert this research into a viable product by designing a commercially adaptable synchronous motor-driven water pump that can be implemented in domestic, industrial, and agricultural applications. This innovation will help reduce energy consumption, lower operational costs, and enhance overall system performance, contributing to sustainable and cost-effective water management solutions.
